New Entry - Default Date

Is there a setting to adjust the default date when making a new entry? It tends to have absurd dates as the default. For example, I've been working in 1847-1849 for weeks, but each default is decades in the future (see image). Thanks! Hi, No there is no way to set the default date when making a new entry. At the moment, if you use the icon in the toolbar/menu item to add events, it is set to the date of the middle of the your timeline that is present on the screen. If you are double clicking the timeline to add a new event, it picks the date nearest to your mouse click. So if you want a default date nearer to the time period you are using, then you can move the time period to the centre of the screen, or double click in the area of the time period you want. Jess

Thank you. Unfortunately, I'm a button pusher rather than a heavy mouse-user so the timeline isn't likely a good approach for me - too many injuries from the Corps left the hands-shoulders rather a mixed blessing /heh - I have'em, but boy do they smart when I use them much - will just doing CMD-N and fix the dates. Thanks. However, setting the default date to the last entry would be very helpful. Seems like a reasonable feature to add. I'll post it on the wish list board. Thanks again!

I just started with this software, but I do find the "Duplicate event" option very useful for creating new events close in time and with similar properties. Not sure if this could be a workaround for your use case, but wanted to throw out the idea.

@airwhale : thanks. Is there a direct "duplicate" action somewhere ? I just searched in the knowledge base and user manual, and through the menus, but couldn't spot it ... what I use is crtl C crtl V... (Windows based)

@michelde Actually, the "Duplicate" option seems to be in the iOS version only. On the Mac, I use Copy / Paste, which works almost identically.
