Setting dateformat correct to include BC

Sun, 18 Jul 2021 17:19:30 GMT

I use Aeon 2.3.16 and for most it works fine (= I understand what I do), now I have a project, synced from Scrivener that concerns archeology and therefore also will include dates belonging into the "BC" era. I fail to set such dates in Scrivener, but when I the enter them into Aeon, like: Start: 0134 BC...these changes are not synced back. Would be nice if someone knows the tricks needed to make it happen

Hi, Since the date custom metdata in Scrivener does not allow BC dates, then we can't sync BC dates from Aeon Timeline to it. Therefore if you want to sync your dates to Scrivener you will have to use the Text custom metadata type, instead of the Date metadata type. In Scrivener if you go to Project->Project Settings, then choose Custom Metadata on the left, then you can click on your Date custom metadata and change its type to Text. Once this has changed you should be able to sync your BC dates, let us know if you still have problems. Jess

AHAaaa... Nifty point, and indeed it works for me... and my math-brain gets initially somewhat confused by the fact that numbers may also be read as text too :-) Thanks for quick response
