View a Custom Calendar

I created a custom calendar, but I have no idea how to view it. I need to be able to see the full names of the months and days I created, but all I can see are the abbreviated ones when I create or edit an event. How can I see my full custom calendar, even if I can't edit it?

Hi, Unfortunately there is no way to view the custom calendar at the moment once events have been added to the timeline, however this has been mentioned before and is on our list of things to look at implementing in the future. In the meantime, if you wish to view your custom calendar, then if you save the template of your timeline (in Timeline Settings - Save As Custom Template), then you can create a new empty timeline with your custom calendar - which you can then view by Choosing Edit Calendar in Timeline Settings. We understand this is a non efficient way to view the calendar, so will look at allowing a read only version in the future. Jess

Hi, Aeon Timeline doesn't have a calendar view where you can see the events on a calendar setup. It has been requested before, and is on our list of features to consider adding in the future. The people in this thread are referring to the ability to see the information from their defined custom calendar (such as names and lengths of months), not particularly having the events displayed on a calendar view. Hi Maybe you'd prefer this to be a separate forum topic, but I'm wondering if I can set the timescale to display in days - months - years as I zoom out from a relative timeline ? To be clear: I have a set historical timeline with dates spanning centuries, and local events for the narrative that I prefer to see in relative (days). So I changed my settings from regular to relative, but now when I zoom out I get to see thousands of days... not nice.

Hi, Unfortunately this isn't an option at the moment, you can only have a relative timeline or a timeline with dates - you can't show them differently depending on the zoom level. However we have had users before request the ability to have both relative and time dates on the one timeline, so this would be an extension of that to look at if we consider it in the future. Jess
