I have a new timeline with I think less than 50 events, some of which has an attached image. It started out fine, but as I added more events it gets slower and slower, now there is a lag every time I type something in a field (for example when adding an event). There is no lag when I use other applications. Restarting the app did not help. iMac Pro with 32 GB RAM (17 GB are free right now when the lag is happening) macOS 10.14.5 Aeon Timeline 2.3.16 Timeline file size 5.9 MB Events are written in Traditional Chinese, in case it matters. Solutions appreciated, TIA!

Hi, We believe this may be a problem with the autosave function on the Mac when there are a large amount of attachments. Are you able to turn this off by going to System Preferences/General and ticking the box next to "Ask to keep changes when closing documents". It still might be slow when saving the file, but shouldn't be slow when just using the application. Jess

Hi Jess, Thanks for your reply! 1. There are only less than 30 images attached to events, and each image is only around 200KB. I feel that this shouldn't count as "a large amount of attachments", especially on an iMac Pro. I plan to add at least a few hundred events to this timeline, most of which would contain an image; if 30 small attachments are enough to cause AT to lag, does it mean that my adding more events and images will soon render AT completely unusable? 2. I changed the settings as you have suggested, but the app is still slow during use. Also I feel that I shouldn't have to change a system-wide setting that would affect all other apps just to be able to use AT. 3. For comparison purpose, I added the exact same images to a Scrivener project, and there was zero lags.

Hi, We agree that your file size does seem small for this to be an issue. Are you able to send through your timeline to support@aeontimeline.com ? This would help us replicate the issue and look into why it is so slow, and hopefully see if there is a way to change this. Jess
