Hi, Normally when we release a new version of the software we like to give users of previous version a discount on upgrading, plus a time window to give free upgrades if they have bought close to the release date. We don't have a set date for when the next version of iOS will be released, but since it will be a vast improvement over the current version we would like to do the same. However due to the way the App Store is set up, it is a lot harder to do (as opposed to our Desktop version which we can additionally sell on our website). We are currently looking into what options we have regarding this, so we are unable to give a definite answer unfortunately. Jess
A common way to give an upgrade discount in the iOS App Store is to provide an "upgrade bundle" which contains both the old version (which the user already has) and the new version. The total price is set so that, after subtracting what the user already paid for the old version, the new version comes for the discounted price. It works because it does NOT represent a bargain for anyone who didn't already buy the old version. I don't know of any way to make it free for recent old version users, though.
Hi, Thanks for letting us know, that is one way we are considering offering the new version. Jess
