Organize CSV by Date Before Export?

I want to be able to have the Start date organized by year, so as to have a linear timeline, instead of what I have now [Screen Shot 2019-03-26 12 05 07 AM](//muut.com/u/aeontimeline/s1/:aeontimeline:L5VQ:screenshot20190326120507am.png.jpg) The goal is to be able to print it out for my partner, who prefers to see a timeline like such: 1908 - 1914 - etc. Printing the image export isn't an option because the background default color is black, which would take a lot of ink (a waste of my money). Is it possible to do what I want? I've poked around a bit with Excel, but not seeing much about how to massage the CSV file into an Excel timeline format.

Hi, Unfortunately there is no way to sort the csv file before exporting, however we agree that this would be useful, so will add this to our list of possible features to add in the future. There is one way to slightly get around this at the moment, if you open the csv file in excel, you could sort by event id - as the ids of events are determined by the start date, this would mostly give you the sort by start date, except for if you had parent and child events (eg. children events of a parent with id 15 are given the ids 15.1, 15.2, etc.) Another thing is, if you wish to print the image export, there are other display options that will take less ink. If you click the Display Settings icon (the paintbrush icon), next to the Skin option you can choose the "Print" option, which is designed to be for printing - the background colour is white. Jess
