SYNCING ISSUES WITH SCRIVENER

I am using Windows 10 Pro with Scrivener Version: 1.9.7.0 - 06 Oct 2016 and Aeon Timeline 2 Version 2.2.4 I have 70 events in Timeline and a New Scrivener Project. I select ALL the events, some are "nested within a main event and want to drag them inot a new Scrivener Project. In Timeline Mode when I select all events to then drag to my Scrivener Project, only about 34 appear under the Binder tab, the rest being under the Event tab. I thought it was because of the "nested" events, but all were expanded and visible. Some expanded events were in the Binder and some weren't. I then selected Relationship View and again expanded all events. Similar problems occurred. When I used Relationship View with Flat Parent/Child Events I got ALL events into the Binder, But the Parent Child relationship was lost. How can I Sync a new Project and retain ALL Events and ALL parent/child relationship, so they appear as sub items in my Scrivener Bind in Scrivener please? Why is Aeon okay with dragging ALL events using Relationship View but not Timeline View? Thank you David Bates

Hi David, We have tried to replicate this problem on our end, and have not reproduced it yet. We will keep trying to find the specific circumstances in which this is happening. If all the parent events are expanded, then when you select all events and drag them to the Scrivener project they should all sync. It might be helpful if you are able to send us your timeline to support@aeontimeline.com with a note with what exact events are syncing and not syncing, and how you were selecting all the events (eg. were you using the Select All shortcut, or selecting them one at a time etc). In terms of importing the parent/child relationship into Aeon Timeline so that they appear as sub items, this functionality is unavailable at the moment as we didn't want to assume that this was how people would want their events ported into Scrivener - some might still want parent/child events to be in the same folder. This is why we have given the ability to reorder Scrivener documents in the binder (aswell as being able to move them to become sub items). Jess

I'm using Windows 7 and I can't see how to drag a group of events into the Scrivener binder. And when I drag a a single event, rather than syncing, it duplicates the item in the binder. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, To drag a group of events into the Scrivener binder, you should first select all the events you want to sync. You can select multiple events by clicking and dragging on the timeline to create a box around the events, or by selecting them one by one by holding down the Ctrl key. Once they are all selected, you can drag them into the binder just like you would with a single event. Is this not working for you? When you say that it duplicates the item in the binder, what do you mean? When you drag an event into the binder it will create a document in the binder that the event is synced to. What item is being duplicated? Jess

Hi aeonjess, Thanks for the quick response. I suspected parent/child syncing was not implemented yet. I will repeat my tests and make more detailed notes and then send the finding together with the test file to you. I will send it in the next couple of days. Regards, David Bates

I can drag neither a group of events nor a single event into the binder. I must have been able to at some point to the the duplication phenomenon, but I can't now. Windows 7.

As a further explanation, when I drag an even across and try to drop it where I want to, there is a red x next to the event indicating no go.

Odd - I just created a new test event, and THAT one I CAN drag over. Just can do it with existing ones.

Should be just CAN'T do it with existing ones.

Hi Craig, Are the existing events already linked to a document in the binder? Because then you would not be able to drag them. Jess
