Hello, I have recently downloaded and started playing around with the software. I am using the software to map out my lifetime. I would like to link events in my lifetime thus far and see how some past events may influence future ones. For example, consider a behaviour difference after, say, a traumatic event. This would effect events after the experience. However, I am not sure which Template to use (I chose storyline) and format to use. The one that I am currently using is the storyline/arc. I set "Employment" as an arc, "Relationships" as another arc, and so on. But this is not helpful because everything is too muddled or segregated. Instead of going on and on, I would like some suggestions as to how you would go about doing this project!!

Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? My trial is almost at an end and I need to make a purchase decision but don't know if this software is right for me (see above).

Hi, The best thing we can suggest is if you wish to separate events into different categories that will help you compare events of different types, then using entities and entity types if the way to go. You could use the existing entity type arc as you have mentioned, or create a new one. Unfortunately there is no way at the moment to show links between event (such as if one event has an effect on another), except if it is time based (eg. event A is five months after B), which I don't believe is what you are looking for.
