Open full view…

Create new event directly from Inspector popup

Hi, I'm new to aeon timeline, using Windows. When I work, the Inspector is mostly open on the right side, eyeing at me, inviting to click and start typing to add another event. That would be so handy, without having to open yet another "create event" menu... As far as i can see, inspector has it all and allows edits of existing items, so why not use it also to create .... my 5 cents

Not sure about Windows, but on a Mac to add a new item (in our case, an Event) in an area where data about an existing item/Event is not considered good UI. So I'd be against that because it'd be confusing.

@msealey : you are right, I expressed myself inaccurately. When the inspector is open, and no event is selected, it shows empty fields. [Empty Inspector](//muut.com/u/aeontimeline/s1/:aeontimeline:tMIh:capture.jpg.jpg) In that case, since the dialog is open anyway (and I'm nearly working ALWAYS with the Inspector on), and it's empty, it would be terribly efficient to simply fill in the fields to create a new event..., instead of having to click more. There is no UI ambiguity then... imho

Hi, Thanks for the suggestion, it is the first time anyone has suggested this and so we will have to give it some thought, but we will consider it next time we make any interface changes. Jess
