Wow, am I glad that I've been keeping an eye on these forums prior to upgrading to the new version of AT. Several of the things I've seen here have made me reluctant to install the new version, but this just boggles my mind. Developers, is the slider really gone? I have a timeline with close to 1k events, spanning centuries. Some events cover years or decades, others are rapid sequences of events known down to the minute over the course of one afternoon. I use the slider for changing the zoom level _all the time_. It's extremely helpful (read: virtually essential) for me to be able to do this rapidly and dynamically with precise control. So far, everything I've read about this update indicates that it removed or unnecessarily changed features that were working perfectly, added things I don't need, and may corrupt years of hard work. I am not very excited about this. I don't mean to sound so negative: discovering AT was one of the best things to happen to me, writing-wise, in a long time. But this new version... wow.
Hi, No the zoom slider hasn't disappeared from the most recent update. It has been removed from the default toolbar on the Mac, but you can put it back by going to View->Customise Toolbar and dragging it onto the toolbar. On Windows it is still on the toolbar. itregillis - did you purchase Aeon Timeline from our website or the Mac App Store? If you purchased from the website, then the older version is still available to download if you do update, then decide you want to revert back. When updating, the program will take a backup of your old file so that you will be still be able to open it in an older version. Jess
Jess, thank you very much for the information. I purchased AT through your website, so it sounds like I could still revert to an older version should I need to do so. I appreciate knowing this. Thanks, and sorry for the delayed response.
